On a personal note
My name is Dr. Dan Hadas,
I am married to a charming woman (mother, nurse and amazing beautician) and I’m a father to three, wonderful children.
For many years now, I have been specializing in treating children, and heart disease in children and athletes in particular. If you want to be updated on groundbreaking studies on this subject, receive private medical advice that sees your entire world as the center of the world, or you have a child with a medical problem, you’ve come to the right place.
A little about the path I’ve taken: I completed my medical studies with honors in 2001, after which I completed my residency at Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center and I specialized in pediatric cardilogy at Schneider Children's Medical Center. I later completed another internship in pediatric arrhythmias and sports cardiology at the world’s leading center in Padua. And if you want to understand how long it all takes…
- School, just like everyone = 12 years
- Medical school = 7 years,
- Pediatrics = 4.5 years,
- Cardiology = 3 years,
- Arrhythmias and athletes = 2 years.
… That is a total of about 28.5 years of studying, exams, papers and specialization in the subject, with the single goal of providing the best possible treatment for children and athletes.
How it all started… In 1988, while traveling together, my best friend died… He jumped into a pool, lost consciousness, and drowned. After the funeral, I made up my mind to try to prevent such unnecessary deaths.
I studied medicine and specialized in pediatrics. During my internship, I began to study potassium channels in Prof. Eitan Reuveny’s laboratory at the Weizmann Institute of science, with the aim of understanding what affects them, and mainly, how we’re affected by them.
After completing my internship in pediatrics, I completed my specialization at the Institute of Cardiology at Schneider Children's Medical Center. After completing my specialization, I was appointed Director of Pediatric Cardiology at Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center, in addition to my work as a senior physician in the pediatric division and as a doctor on call at the emergency department at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center
In 2016 I moved to Italy, to the world’s leading center in arrhythmia in athletes in Padua. There I specialized in pediatric arrhythmia and sports cardiology. At the same time, I completed advanced training courses in sports cardiology by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In 2018 I returned home, to Israel and to Yitzhak Shamir in order to continue my journey and to collaborate with the leading minds in Israel and around the world.
And my goal is still the same goal I had 30 years ago…to prevent the next case!
